Pressure Cookers Take
the Pressure Off Cooking!

Did you ever wish you could make a big ol’ pot of beans quickly? Or did you ever think it would be nice to braise a pot roast in a hurry? You can easily do this with a pressure cooker!

Pressure cookers are designed to cook your food fast. They create a seal around the lid that keeps in steam and air. This means you can cook your food in higher heat because it takes a higher temperature to get water to boil inside the cooker. This means quicker cooking but the food, like meat, comes out more moist and tender. Cooking in one of these reduces cooking time by about 70% over most other methods.

Low carb dieters adore them because this style of cooking tenderizes inexpensive cuts of meat. Did you ever think you could cook a 3 pound rump roast in about a half-hour? How about an entire chicken in around 20 minutes? Hey, who needs a slow cooker, right?

Vegetarians also love them because some of their main foods, like rice and beans, only take about 10 minutes. These usually take about 45 minutes or more to cook. Other foods, like potatoes, spaghetti squash, turnips and other vegetables, will often take only 1 to 3 minutes.

Pressure cookers are heavy and very sturdy so they can retain the high pressure inside the cooker. They come in various sizes and it might come in handy to have a couple of them.

A small one would be good for rice and vegetables, and a larger one for roasts, poultry, stuffed bell peppers and maybe some ribs. Throw the ribs in the cooker for a little while to get them tender, and then throw them on the grill for a few minutes lathered with your favorite barbecue sauce.

Speaking of a slow cooker, the pressure cooker may be a better choice for you if you have to quickly run off to work in the mornings. Quite often you may not have time to prepare the food for the slow cooker before you head out the door. But, with one of these you can throw the food in when you come home, and in a matter of minutes your supper will be waiting for you.

There are a lot of tools and cookware that has a place in the kitchen, and the more you have (and know how to use) the easy and more fun your cooking experience will be. And that’s just what cooking should be – fun. And somebody else should always half to clean up the mess!

So, get yourself a pressure cooker and make your life a little easier. After all, we all want to take the pressure off when we can, right?
